Air France cadets are a real opportunity if you want to become an airline pilot. It is totally free and paid training, associated with the prestige of the French airline. Suspended since the Covid crisis, Air France’s pilot cadet program will be relaunched with the hiring of new candidates at the end of the year.
But the selection is difficult. In 2018, for example, 120 candidates were selected from 4,300 files submitted. After being rigorously selected, applicants will be able to follow a full flight training course fully paid for by Air France. This training, practical and theoretical, lasts 24 months during which several evaluations are carried out. Those who pass all the exams are offered a position with Air France or its subsidiary Transavia as a Line Pilot Officer (LPO).
With this training, Air France intends to promote vocations but also increase diversity in its teams. In fact, the cadet pilot sector is accessible without previous piloting experience and without age limit. However, you must have followed a certain course, such as a preparatory class for the Grandes Ecoles or a master’s degree. A minimum TOEIC score of 850 points is also required.
