
More than 120 people were able to exceptionally visit the Thermodyn company this Saturday morning in Le Creusot.
Like its neighbor Alstom, the Thermodyn company, which has belonged to the international Baker Hughes group since October 2019, opened its doors in an exceptional way this Saturday morning. The goal was to receive 110 visitors from the entire region, within the framework of the economic heritage days of the Saône-et-Loire department.
The visitors were perfectly supervised by those responsible for the creusotin plant who introduced the company and extensively explained its technical and human resources (400 employees), its trades and its products (low and medium pressure centrifugal compressors, small and medium power
On the project side, and after a relatively quiet period after Covid, the Thermodyn company seems to be recovering well. In addition to a large load of repairs on various products, the Creusot site, which has developed a range of compressors for methane tankers, has already delivered 10 units: “We have ten more on order and ten more compressors will follow for the Wärtsilä company. . This product gives excellent results in terms of performance, that is, more than 20% of what we expected…” reveals Sébastien Gosse, who also highlights the series effect with its advantages… Another reason for satisfaction, the site has registered a “good” number of orders in the third quarter of 2022, including that of 4 ICL (Integrated Compressor Line) compressors of great capacity (20MW) for the United States. “This is the first order (40 million euros) of this type of equipment for the United States, it is about 140-ton machines, respectful with the environment and that require little maintenance, which will be delivered between October 2023 and March 2020. 2024. The order was placed recently, in May 2022…”, emphasizes Sébastien Gosse, who also points out that a phase two could materialize with another order for 5 machines of the same type, for 2025-26, and always for the DRIFTWOOD Pipeline company. .
On Saturday morning, in addition to discovering the activities and news on the site, it was possible to exchange points of view by sector with the various Thermodyn employees, in particular with the human resources staff.
We learned that the Creusot company is indeed looking for a designer, three welders, an accountant and a process engineer to work on the plans.
