news good plan French Days 2022: the price of the MSI RTX 3080 Gaming Z drops to €879
That’s it, the moment armies of PC gamers have been waiting for has finally arrived: graphics card prices are finally coming down. It must be said that the stars are finally aligning to bring prices down. Cryptocurrency prices have crashed, shattering miner demand, while COVID is behind us, meaning factories can once again produce at full capacity. Add to that the French Days promotions, and now you can find the RTX 3080 at almost reasonable prices.
French Days 2022: the RTX 3080 MSI Gaming Z costs €879
If prices have skyrocketed in recent months, even in recent years, it is for various reasons. First of all, the COVID crisis weighed down the production capacity of factories, while the boom in the price of cryptocurrencies caused all miners to rush to GPUs to mine their precious virtual currency.
We know the bottom line: Since the launch of the GeForce 30 series, prices have never been close to the prices advertised when these graphics cards launched, even reaching completely insane heights.
Today, cryptocurrencies are worthless, factories can go out, and with the imminent arrival of the RTX 40 series, sellers are rushing to get rid of their stock of the GeForce RTX 30 series. They are also an excellent opportunity to lower even plus the prices, as you can see on Rue du Commerce, which offers an RTX 3080 at a very attractive price.
Initially priced at €719 (the famous MSRP that has never been noticed), the MSI RTX 3080 Gaming Z Trio is only available at €879, which is particularly feasible for a model that will spend all €1000 on some months.

It is therefore the MSI Gaming Z model. As always, the RTX 3080 is based on the GA102-302 chip that incorporates 8704 CUDA cores and 10 GB of GDDR6X memory. The advantage of this model is, of course, its slight factory overclock. In fact, a basic RTX 3080 runs at 1710Mhz, while Gaming Z automatically boosts to 1830Mhz, to provide a bit more processing power.
The other big difference is, of course, in the cooling system. MSI adopts a large heat pipe heatsink here which is cooled by three axial fans. Attention too, this heatsink weighs heavily, and it will probably be necessary to use a bracket to support part of the 2342g of this graphics card.

If you have a talent for overclocking, know that it will also be possible to extract more power from this GPU thanks to the upwardly revised power supply (three 8-pin connectors all the same) and this rather strong cooling system. Finally, fans of light gaming will be pleased to know that Gaming Z has an RGB system that will make your big GPU shine.
