He is in Paris, in the district 13in front of the François Mitterrand Library and Station F (hence the Félicità) and within a raw concrete space of 600 m²that the artist invites us to discover his exhibition that marks the 40th anniversary of his first template in the capital.

For this anniversary, boss sprays and the Gallery Mathgoth imagined an extraordinary exhibition bringing together hundreds of works created exceptionally for this event. This exhibition consists of two big partson the one hand the work of the artist On the street and on the other hand his studio papers. A catalog will also be published in This time.

The first part welcomes us with a monumental installation evoking the urban space and its chaos. Near 200 life-size figures in painted cardboard come to take their place for an amazing immersive experience. Imagine an immense urban jungle where all the spaces are inverted, from the walls to the floors, and where music and sound effects are in order to immerse ourselves in the universe of the city. Then we find practically all the stencils made by boss sprays in an urban environment. Some templates, too damaged, could not be used, others were redone and 3 new ones arrived to enrich the artist’s collection.

We also immerse ourselves in the history of the artist through Photos Y personal documents as well as some videos that reveal the universe of the artist, his inspirations and his evolution in 40 years. He discovers, for example, his first spray stencil, the only technique that allowed him to paint without touching the support. Fast, with no brush to clean, spray stenciling has become his preferred mode of urban expression.

This exhibition, which had been imagined for a while, materialized during this summer of 2022. With the validation of the exhibition space and the collection of the keys at the beginning of August. All the works made especially for the exhibition were created in an emergency by the artist and his assistants in less than 2 months. A work of madness that did not displease the artist who loves the effervescence of creation, without having to return to it.

If you walk through Paris, surely you have come across the works of boss sprays. If only in Beaubourg, in Stravinsky Square, where his self-portrait named Shhhhh!!! it has become the most photographed fresco in France. This intended ephemeral work, which was going to disappear after a facelift, has finally become an essential creation of Parisian heritage.
