Windows 11 received the first part of its big fall update a few days ago. Some features are present, but not activated yet. There is an easy way to use them today.
The Windows 11 22H2 update brings its share of new features, like Compatibility with Android applications. Other expected features are not yet present. Microsoft counts well implement them in the second part of this update which should arrive in October.
The Redmond company has a habit of hiding new features within its operating system to activate them in due course. He is it is now possible to use the main functions of this update today. To do this, you need to follow a short tutorial shared by the latest Windows site.
How to enable hidden features in Windows 11?
To activate the new features, you need to download a small piece of software and then use the command prompt. The thing is easy, accessible even to unsophisticated users.
- On the Github site, Download ViVeTool v0.3.1. Be careful, Windows 11 may mark you as dangerous, but you can ignore the warning.
- Once the software has been downloaded, go to the Command Prompt, then inside, find the folder containing ViVeTool (as in the image) using the CD command
- Once done, you will need to type vivetool/enable/id:xxxxxxxx to activate certain commands
By typing ID: 34592303, you will have access to the suggested actions. This will save you time. For example, when a date is noted in a document, Windows 11 will display a window offering to add it to the calendar.
To take advantage of the new dialog when you open a file, type ID: 36302090. The taskbar windows redesign is obtained by typing ID: 35620393.
Finally, to be able to use tabs in file explorer, you need to type three commands one by one: DNI:36354489, DNI:37634385 and DNI:39145991.
Thus, you will be able to use the hidden functions of Windows 11. These should not drag any bugs, since they are in their final version, but you never know. If you do not want to go through this process, you should know that they will be available in a few weeks, when the second part of the 22H2 update arrives.
