But this is where the danger lies, as the two terms are very often confused, even though they are quite different. What is a bot? What is an artificial intelligence? What is a bot?
A robot is a machine designed to perform Specific tasks. Robots are capable of complex and repetitive tasks faster and more accurately than humans.
Robots are increasingly used in manufacturing, assembly, packaging and delivery in factories around the world. They are often used in manufacturing settings, but also in healthcare, agriculture, automotive, and many other industries. For example, hospitals use robots to help with surgery and rehabilitationand schools use them for teaches children.
Robots come in all shapes and sizes, from the smallest that fit in the palm of your hand to the largest that are the size of a car. Some robots even look like humans or animals. But they all have one thing in common: they are designed to make our lives easier.
So how do they work? Well, it depends on the type of robot. some use sensors to detect your environment, then follow the programmed instructions. Others use algorithms machine learning to determine the best way to perform your task.
What is artificial intelligence and what can it do?
Simply put, AI is the process of creating a computer system able to learn and function on its own. This can be done by various methods, including but not limited to:
- Machine learning algorithms: are algorithms that allow a computer systemautomatically improve performance on a task over time.
- deep learning or deep learning : is a subset of machine learning that uses very large neural networks (networks of interconnected processing nodes) to learn from data in an unsupervised manner.
- Natural language processing: involves teaching computers to understand human language and react naturally to humans.
Specifically, AI applications can be implemented in a wide range of areas, including medical diagnosis, stock trading, robot control, legal and many others. AI technology is also increasingly being used to enhance the capabilities of existing products and services, such as search engines, social networks, and fraud detection systems.
So far, AI has made impressive progress. There are now AI systems that can beat humans at certain taskslike playing chess or Go. But there is still a long way to go before AI can truly match or surpass human intelligence.
Differences between robot and artificial intelligence
Robots have been used to centuriesbut artificial intelligence is a relatively new field.
Robots are physical machines that perform Specific tasks. They are designed and programmed to perform these tasks and cannot deviate from them. Artificial intelligence, on the other hand, is about creating software that can learn and adapt. This means that AI systems can perform more complex tasks than robots.
AI systems also have the ability to improve over time. As they are exposed to more data, they can “learn” and become more efficient in performing their tasks. The robots, on the other hand, remain the same once they are built. They cannot get better at what they do without being changed or replaced.
For example, a robot can be programmed to weld car parts on an assembly line. Rather, an AI system could be used to diagnose disease or plan military strategies.
AI systems are often more flexible and powerful than robots. They can be used for tasks that are too difficult or too dangerous for humans, such as dropping bombs.
Finally, AI systems have the potential to be much smarter than robots.
